Low Cost Therapy

Our low-cost therapy program is designed to support individuals who are seeking therapy but may not be able to afford the full cost of treatment.

How the Affordable Therapy Program Works:

This initiative is part of our Clinical Internship program, where advanced graduate students are trained and supervised to offer therapy. Sessions typically last between 3 to 12 months, in line with the duration of the intern's graduate program. Once the program concludes, you’ll have the opportunity to either continue therapy with your intern once they’re licensed, or we will assist in connecting you with another intern or therapist for ongoing support, if available. The options will be discussed with you a couple months before the end of their program.

Although our services are offered at a lower cost, the quality of therapy remains high. We are committed to providing a respectful, empowering experience where the relationship between therapist and client is the top priority. Our interns are chosen from a pool of applicants as people who stand out for a reason.

How the Process Works:

  1. Submit a request form. Our team will reach out to you within 48 hours with details and next steps.

  2. Review the bios of our Intern Therapists. Finding the right therapist is key to successful therapy. You can either choose a therapist based on their profile, or we can help you select.

  3. Book, schedule, and attend your sessions.

  4. As your therapist approaches the end of their graduate program (typically 3-12 months after starting therapy), they will discuss options with you for moving forward. You may choose to continue with them if it works out financially for you, we can assist in finding another intern or therapist, or you may decide to end therapy at that time.

What is the Cost and How Do I Pay?

Each session, whether individual or couples, is priced at $35.

Your credit card details will be collected when you book your session, and your card will be automatically charged at the end of each session.

We also accept HSA cards, which can be added to our system just like a debit or credit card.

How Can I Be Sure My Therapy Will Be High Quality?

Our clinical interns meet the requirements set by their graduate programs and state regulations, qualifying them as advanced-level trainees. We prioritize selecting students who not only excel academically but also bring a genuine, compassionate approach to therapy and stand out amongst other applicants. We choose interns who are committed to their professional development ensuring they’re well-equipped to create safe, supportive, and empathetic relationships with clients. )To give an idea of numbers: we have had over 30 applicants in the past year and we have chosen THREE).

Each intern receives ongoing supervision from multiple licensed clinical supervisors. At NWMHA, they participate in individual supervision, group training, mentorship, and regular consultations with senior-level licensed professionals every week. In addition, they continue to receive oversight from their academic faculty every week. This comprehensive support ensures high-quality care while offering interns valuable hands-on experience in the field.
